Water Safety

Although the Authority tries to make certain that, wherever possible, water and sewerage services are not interrupted during a hurricane, it may be necessary to temporarily disrupt service in order to protect the distribution system, or due to a damaged plant, road, pipeline, or the loss of electrical power.

Should water or sewerage services need to be interrupted, the Authority will give as much notice as possible to customers via local radio, print and television news media, the Authority website, and social media.

There is also the possibility that the water supply to your home could become contaminated or otherwise unfit to drink during or after a storm.

To learn more about what steps to take to ensure you and your loved ones have access to an adequate supply of safe water for drinking and non-drinking uses, download the brochure below.
