Public Service Announcement - Planned Repairs May Impact Water Pressure

Public Service Announcement - Planned Repairs May Impact Water Pressure
06 September, 2017

Water Authority – Cayman is continuing to work diligently to repair the broken line which caused sporadic service interruptions and low water pressure to George Town customers on Tuesday, 5 September. Although work continued throughout the day today (Wednesday, 6 September) the nature of the leak is such that additional measures are necessary to drain the area and complete the repairs.

Therefore, the Authority will partially shut down its George Town water supply tonight starting from 9:30pm. Some areas of George Town will still be supplied by the George Town Pump House but others will be supplied by the Lower Valley Water Works, which may result in lower than normal water pressure for some customers. Customers in Savannah, Prospect and Red Bay may also be affected by lower water pressure due to this temporary measure.

The Authority thanks its customers and the public for their continued patience and understanding, and apologises for any inconvenience this may cause. The Authority’s staff will continue to work diligently until this issue is resolved.
