Water Authority – Cayman wishes to advise the public that a portion of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway between the Butterfield Roundabout and Lawrence Boulevard will be closed from 6:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday, 7 February.

Please note that the Lakeside apartment complex will be accessible to local traffic from the south.

These works are necessary to facilitate the replacement of the current sewer force main with a new pipeline. The sewer force main connects the main sewage pumping station on West Bay Road with the Water Authority’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The contract to install the new pipeline was awarded to Wharton-Smith, Inc. of Florida in late 2015 and work on the project commenced earlier this month.

Traffic signs will be posted in the general vicinity and all motorists are asked to drive with caution to ensure their own safety, as well as that of the Water Authority staff.

The Water Authority appreciates the patience and understanding of the motoring public as it upgrades its sewerage infrastructure to better serve its customers, and apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
