Public Service Announcement: Planned Works - Boilers Road
24 August, 2026
Veronika Karailieva 949-2068

Water Authority–Cayman wishes to advise motorists travelling along Boilers Road, George Town of traffic disruption and phased partial road closure beginning Monday, 31 August 2026, with anticipated completion by Friday, 2 October 2026.

Traffic disruptions will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., on weekdays only, over the course of the planned works.

This work involves installing a 12" pipeline along Boilers Road as part of our New Works Pipelaying programme. The upgrade will improve operational efficiency and emergency response capabilities.

Throughout the work residents and motorists will have partial access to Boilers Road. Local access only – no through traffic, in phases:

· Phase 1 – Monday, 31 August – Friday, 11 September 2026 - Access to Boilers Road from Walkers Road only (no through traffic to Seafarers Way), up to the Kirk Marine parking lot. Access to Boilers Road from Seafarers Way will be closed during this phase.

· Phase 2 – Monday, 14 September – Friday, 2 October 2026 - Access to Boilers Road from Seafarers Way only (no through traffic to Walkers Road), up to the Kirk Marine parking lot. Access to Boilers Road from Walkers Road will be closed during this phase.

The above phase dates are estimates and are subject to change. Temporary road signs will be in place to guide traffic safely around the works. Heavy equipment will be present on the road throughout the work, and all motorists are advised to drive cautiously to ensure their safety and that of Water Authority crews.

The Water Authority thanks residents and motorists for their patience as we work to improve water infrastructure.
