The Authority’s work to normalise the salinity levels in Cayman Brac continues. Our team has now completed flushing the main pipeline along the south side of the island, as well as the north-west and north-east pipelines.
Additional laboratory staff members from Grand Cayman have arrived in Cayman Brac to assist with testing various sample taps across the network.
Testing results thus far indicate that the salinity issues did not affect areas east of Coastal Way (in the vicinity of the Layman E. Scott Sr. High School).
The team will commence flushing and testing on side roads.
Out of an abundance of caution, the boil water notice remains in effect as the Authority works to ensure the salt levels meet our strict water quality standards.
The Authority appreciates the public’s patience and understanding. The Authority would also like to express its thanks to the motoring public for their consideration of our crew as they carried out these works.
Updates on the progress of the work will be provided via our website www.waterauthority.ky.
