Water Authority – Cayman wishes to advise the motoring public of upcoming wastewater infrastructure works along West Bay Road (in the vicinity of Burger King), which will cause a partial closure of West Bay Road.

Preliminary activities, which the Water Authority contractors will conduct, are scheduled to take place on Saturday, 20 September, which may cause temporary traffic diversion into the center turn lane for southbound traffic. Traffic signs and other control measures will be placed as and when needed.

The primary maintenance work will take place on Sunday, 21 September, from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM. During the works, the southbound lane of West Bay Road will be closed (between Burger King and the Dart overpass), with the southbound through traffic being diverted through Esterly Tibbetts Highway. The northbound lane will remain open. Motorists will be able to access the businesses in the area (Galleria Plaza, Tiger Mart Gas Station, and Burger King). West Shore Plaza and Wendy’s can be accessed via Lawrence Boulevard.  

Flaggers and traffic signs will be in place. All motorists are asked to drive with caution to ensure their own safety as well as the safety of the Water Authority and its contractor staff.

These works are part of an ongoing series of maintenance work on the wastewater infrastructure in the area.
